WCPSS Students Try to Break World Jump-Rope Record

O Jump Rope

Students at more than 30 Wake County public schools attempted to break the current Guinness World Record for the largest number of people jumping rope at the same time at multiple locations March 1. The current record stands at 70,881. An official number of participants will be available in the next month or two.

Sheri Fowler’s fifth-grade class at Salem Elementary in Apex ignited the idea after students wrote about recruiting other schools across Wake County to help break this world record. They also planned and organized the entire effort. Learn more at www.wcpss.net/blog (search for Guinness).
