‘War Horse’ Gallops into Durham
War Horse, the winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Play, uses life-sized puppets and stirring music to bring horses to life on stage at the Durham Performing Arts Center Oct. 2-7.
The play recounts the remarkable tale of young Albert’s beloved horse, Joey, who has been enlisted to fight for the English in World War I. Joey is caught in enemy crossfire and ends up serving both sides of the war before landing in no-man’s land. Albert embarks on a treacherous mission to find his horse and bring him home.
War Horse is appropriate for ages 10 and older. Visit dpacnc.com or call 919-680-2787 to purchase tickets, which range from $17.50-$90. DPAC is located at 123 Vivian St., Durham.
