Are you looking for books at bargain prices? Is your teen hoping to volunteer for a worthwhile local cause? Would you and your little ones enjoy a family-friendly festival? Then check out the Wake County Public Libraries’ Booksale and Festival of Reading Dec. 10-13 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

An annual event, the sale this year will feature more than 350,000 books for all ages in the Jim Graham Building. Check the wakegov.com site to learn the hours for the sale each day.  On Friday, 3-9 p.m., don’t miss the Sunset Sale, when you can take advantage of a buy-one, get-one free deal on adult books. On Saturday, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m., head to the festival for fun activities ranging from live entertainment to crafts for children. Learn more about the festival activity schedule here.

If your teen is at least 14 years old and looking to volunteer, he or she can sign up to volunteer for a shift at this link. Volunteers are needed for such tasks as organizing and shifting books, counting books, or completing other tasks assigned by onsite library staff. Each volunteer shift lasts two hours, and volunteers who complete four hours of service receive a $10 book voucher. These book vouchers are non-transferable, and must be used during the 2015 Booksale.

For more information on the sale or to volunteer, visit wakegov.com/libraries/events.
