Wake Forest University to host annual KidsFest

KidsFest is a free event hosted by HOPE, a volunteer organization at Wake Forest University. It features handicapped-accessible, carnival-style attractions and games. This years event will take place April 27 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Wake Forests Manchester Plaza.

HOPEs student volunteers assist each week in the classrooms of The Special Childrens School and The Childrens Center. KidsFest is the organizations opportunity to invite the children they volunteer with to campus for an afternoon of activities and fun.

This years theme is Deacons in Training. Children will enjoy moon bounces, a petting zoo, refreshments and more. Participating Wake Forest student organizations design their own booths, at which they can provide activities like making crafts or playing games. Student athletes will also be there to lead sports stations such as basketball, soccer, tee-ball and cheerleading. For more information and to RSVP, go to wakeforest.orgsync.com/org/hopewfu/Kidsfest
