Thales Academy, a college preparatory network of Pre-K-12 independent schools based in North Carolina, is expanding two of its Triangle area campuses to offer junior high grades on site in addition to their Pre-K and elementary programs. A virtual information session for interested families to learn more about the Thales Academy junior high program is being offered via Facebook Live on April 8, 2020. Both Thales Academy Raleigh and Thales Academy Knightdale will offer sixth and seventh grades for the 2020-2021 school year, making them Pre-K-7 campuses, and each will add an eighth grade the following year, offering a complete Pre-K-8 preschool through junior high program at both campuses. Enrollment is awarded on a first come, first served basis.

“We are excited to be expanding our campus to allow for continued growth and stability for our families all the way through students’ formative middle school years,” says Heather Brame, Administrator of Thales Academy Raleigh. “The Thales Academy junior high Classical Curriculum is designed to naturally build upon our elementary Direct Instruction foundation and develop older students’ independence and critical thinking skills, and to be able to offer this full progression for our students in a familiar and secure environment provides such value to their continued success as they mature.”

Hilary Herman-Pagliolo, Administrator of Thales Academy Knightdale, agrees: “Our sixth, seventh and eventually eighth grade students enjoy developmentally appropriate older student responsibilities and privileges, such as locker use, an eight period school day with class changes, and iPads for use on classwork and homework. They also benefit from a predictable, secure environment and valuable leadership opportunities afforded by being housed in a cohesive campus with the younger grades. We are thrilled to be growing into a full Pre-K-8 school to provide this positive, expanded educational experience for our students.”

A Facebook Live Virtual Information Session about the Thales Academy Junior High and High School programs will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at noon EDT on the Thales Academy Facebook page.  For additional information about Thales Academy, including FAQs, admissions information, and virtual tours of the Thales Academy Raleigh and Knightdale campuses, visit
