State Fair Food Offered During May Event
The Spring Food Fest runs May 21-23
The North Carolina State Fair is hosting a Spring Food Fest this month, May 21-23. Between 10 a.m.-9 p.m., 23 food vendors will sell favorites from the annual event. The free fair food rodeo also includes discounted tickets for the North Carolina State Fair later this year (Oct. 14-24): The special price is $8 for adults and $4 for youth 6-12. Those are available at the N.C. State Fair Ticket Booth near Dorton Arena.
“This is a walk-up, take-out event,” organizers say. “In accordance with Executive Orders from the Office of the Governor, face masks are required when social distancing cannot be maintained.”
Among the favorites available at the spring event: smoked turkey legs, brisket, blooming onions, candy apples, shrimp burgers, corn dogs, funnel cake, gyros, frozen tea and lemonade, frozen coffee and mocha, Hawaiian shaved ice, and much more. Full list of vendors can be found here.
The N.C. State Fair organizers did something similar last September, in lieu of the normal event. Hundreds and hundreds took advantage of the drive-through food rodeo.
