Lake Johnson Pool

Millbrook Exchange Park features a year-round main pool and a summer season wading pool and spray ground. Children can work up a sweat before cooling off at the Millbrook Exchange Playground as well.
Summer hours for spray ground and wading pool (May 26-Sept. 2): Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, 1-6 p.m. Recreational swim hours during the summer season are Monday-Saturday, noon-8 p.m.; Sunday, 1-6 p.m. Check website for lap lane times.


Ridge Road Pool

Raleigh’s Ridge Road Pool offers up a wading pool and splash pad like Millbrook and Lake Johnson. At Ridge Road, the splash pad and wading pool are side-by-side (not separated by a fence), so toddlers can move freely from one to the other.
Summer hours: June 1–Sept. 2: Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, 1-6 p.m. Wading pool opens at 9 a.m., Monday-Friday.


Knightdale Station Park Splash Pad

New! Features 2,000 square feet of family-oriented fun that is accessible for all visitors. This uniquely designed amenity has 20 sprayers for all ages, including a steam engine water tower. There is an additional 1,500-square-foot deck with shade features to help keep you cool during those hot, summer days.

Edison Johnson Spray Ground

The Edison Johnson Spray Ground is located in between the Edison Johnson Recreation Center and Aquatics Center within Rock Quarry Park. In addition to the spray ground, there is also a playground, picnic tables and a grill. There is a also a short trail that connects the spray ground to the large field and tennis courts within Rock Quarry Park.
Free. Open the end of May through the end of September.
Hours: Every day from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Forest Hills Spray Ground

The Forest Hills Spray Ground is located in the playground area and can be accessed when the pool is closed. In addition to the spray ground, there is also a playground, picnic shelters and tables, grills, and tennis courts.

Hillside Spray Ground

Jack Smith Park Sprayground

The town’s first splash pad has nine water features and is intended for ages 12 and younger. The park also features a playground, dog park, greenway trails and more.
Summer hours: Open mid-May through mid-September, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.

Waverly Place Splash Pad

302 Colonades Way, Cary

This Splash Pad is operated by a dial system. The dial must be turned to the “on” position to activate the jets. Water will be active for 15 minutes. Splash Pad jets can reach 2-5 feet in height.
Hours: The Splash Pad operates Memorial Day through Labor Day,10 a.m.-noon and 5 p.m.-7 p.m., daily. Service is suspended during inclement weather. Please note, the Splash Pad will not run during normal afternoon/evening hours on Wind Down Wednesday concert dates.


Taylor Street Park Sprayground

Museum of Life and Science Hideaway Woods Cooling Stream

Wade in an accessible, recirculating freshwater stream for a cooling exploration of how water interacts and behaves with other elements in nature. Grab a pine cone or a giant leaf and see how the current impacts your boat’s journey! What impact will your hand have on the flow of a mini waterfall? This play zone includes an accessible patio near the waterfall area. There is also a changing area and foot wash station nearby to make cleanup easier.

Museum of Life and Science Into the Mist

Kids Together Playground Misting Garden

Not necessarily a place to go with the intention of getting wet, but we’d be remiss to not mention that Pullen Park has a misting tower available near the webbed climbing structure to cool down with if you hit up this beautiful park on a hot day.
