Raleigh’s Holt Brothers Honored in Los Angeles

Former N.C. State University and National Football League players Torry and Terrence Holt were honored in Los Angeles Sept. 20 for their work on behalf of children affected by a parent’s cancer. The Holts were lauded at the annual Susan’s Magic Makers fundraising gala in Santa Monica, California, where more than 400 attendees paid tribute to the brothers for their work supporting Camp Kesem, a national organization that operates sleep-away camps across the U.S. for children and youth who need special support. The event raised more than $300,000 to expand Camp Kesem’s services.

The brothers, inspired by their own personal experience, are well known for their efforts to enrich the lives of children who have a parent battling cancer. Torry was 10 and Terrence was 6 when their mother, Ojetta, was diagnosed with lymphoma. After she passed away, they made a commitment to help children who have a parent with cancer and created the Holt Brothers Foundation, based in Raleigh, to fulfill that mission.
