Pumpkin Fun in Grover
Fall fun awaits families at the Grover Pumpkin Festival Oct. 27, noon-8 p.m., in Grover, N.C. Activities include pumpkin bowling, pumpkin carving, costume contests, a trick-or-treat trail, and pie-eating and seed-spitting contests. As it gets dark, enjoy the lighting of more than 700 jack-o’-lanterns carved by attendees and local schools.
A corn maze, which operates every Saturday in October, is open during the festival until 7 p.m. Headless Horseman carriage rides are $10. Admission is $10 for ages 5 and older and $5 for ages 4 and younger. The festival is on the corner of Main Street and Cleveland Avenue in Grover.
