New research* shows that 91% of teens want to stay active during the summer when school sports programs, gym classes or after-school activities wind down, and that’s why Planet Fitness is offering teens a safe space where they can get their sweat on. From Wed., May 15 through Sun., Sept. 1, Planet Fitness welcomes high school teens ages 15-18 to work out at any of its more than 1,800 participating locations throughout the United States and Canada for free all summer long. There are multiple Planet Fitness locations in the Triangle. Find the closest one here.

The Details:

  • Teens must work out at the location they sign up at and are not permitted to use at other locations. Online signups are not available.
  • Teens under 18 must bring a parent/guardian to sign up. Once the parent/guardian waiver is signed for teens under 18, teens can work out alone. Students who are already 18 do not need a parent or guardian to be present during the sign-up process.
  • Teens will have the ability to take free fitness classes through the Planet Fitness PE@PF program. Classes will be offered at least once a day, Monday through Friday. Visit your local club for specific days and times.

In addition, all teens who sign up are entered into Planet Fitness’ Scholarship Sweepstakes. At the end of the summer, Planet Fitness will be awarding one $500 scholarship in each state/province and a $5,000 grand prize in both the United States and Canada. Additionally, teens will have the chance to win exciting prizes on Planet Fitness’ Facebook and Instagram channels throughout the summer such as PF swag, movie tickets, and wireless headphones. For complete Official Rules, eligibility, and free entry details, visit here.

Planet Fitness has more than 1,800 clubs and 12.5 million members in all 50 states (and beyond). The clubs offer a non-intimidating, hassle-free, welcoming environment – known as the Judgement Free Zone  – that makes everyone feel comfortable.
