Help keep the Bull City clean and pristine this Saturday during the Durham Big Sweep.

This weekend in the Triangle, learn about genetic traits that give super abilities at a program for teens at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, help keep Durham clean at the Durham Big Sweep, find out what stories some works of art have to tell at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, and check out a nature and environmental education festival in Holly Springs.

Teen Science Café: The Science of Superpowers FREE

Do you have unbreakable bones, incredible vision, or super strength? Could you be a superhero? At this Teen Science Café, Dr. Marianne Barrier from the North Carolina Museum of Natural History’s Genomics and Microbiology Research Lab will discuss how unique genetic traits give some individuals incredible “superhuman” abilities. See if your genetic code makes the cut and assess your own skills. This event takes place at the museum’s Daily Planet Café Oct. 5, 6-7 p.m., and is geared toward teens. No preregistration is necessary.
