Learn how to build an extreme cookie house at a program at the East Regional Library in Knightdale, make your own bath bomb in an activity at the South Regional Library in Durham, make heartfelt crafts for upcoming holidays at Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh, and craft a seasonal pillow with no sewing required at The Devilish Egg in Raleigh.

Extreme Cookie Houses FREE

Building a cookie house is a fun way to spend a cold afternoon, but what about an extreme cookie house? How does that work? Teens in grades 6-10 can find out at this STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) exploration at East Regional Library in Knightdale on Nov. 26, 5:30-6:30 p.m. No preregistration is necessary.

DIY Bath Bombs FREE

Tweens and teens in grades 6-12 can learn to make scented bath bombs at this fun program at South Regional Library in Durham. Mix the proper ingredients with essential oils of each participant’s choice, mold the mixture and take it home for a bath or to give as a heartfelt gift for a loved one. The program runs from 4-5:30 p.m. on Nov. 27 and no preregistration is necessary.

Made By Me

Kids ages 2½-5 and a caregiver can team up Nov. 28 or 29 to create gifts for family, friends or teachers at Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh. Homemade gifts are always a hit and create magical memories for the giver and recipient. Museum members pay $8 per child/adult pair and nonmembers pay $20, which includes museum admission. Each session lasts 45 minutes and begins at 10 a.m. Choose your date when you preregister here.

No-Sew Applique Pillows

It’s easier than you think to make your own holiday-themed pillow, and there’s no sewing required. Learn how Nov. 29, 7-9 p.m., at The Devilish Egg in Raleigh for $35 per participant. Choose from Christmas-, Hanukkah- or winter-themed designs, and let your creativity take over. This activity is suitable for kids ages 15 and older to attend alone, but a caregiver-child pair can register together. The format of the class is that the teacher will provide step-by-step instructions to start and give individualized guidance throughout the class as needed, and an iron is utilized, so use your own judgment when deciding if this activity is suitable a younger child. Ages 12 and older is a good guideline. Preregister here
