New Coalition Tackles High-Risk Drinking in Chapel Hill

A new collaborative effort funded jointly by the Town of Chapel Hill, UNC-Chapel Hill, the Orange County Health Department and the Orange County ABC Board is confronting the problem of high-risk drinking among college and high school students in Chapel Hill and surrounding communities. High-risk drinking results hurts a person’s health and safety, and also results in a wide variety of community-related harms. Strategies to address this problem include public education and updates to policies related to high-risk drinking.

Coalition membership includes agency partners from UNC-Chapel Hill, the town and the county; university students, community members; and downtown bar and restaurant owners. Learn more at
