In a recent survey of more than 170 cities across the U.S., Raleigh ranked 27th overall, based on a methodology using 40 key indicators of good health. Raleigh’s total score was 54.12. The City of Oaks ranked 22nd in health care; 25th in healthy food options, habits and resources; 13th in fitness; and 69th in green space. 

Other North Carolina cities making the top 125 were Durham at 58, Charlotte at 70 and Greensboro at 117.
