N.C. PTA to Collect Snowflakes for Sandy Hook School Community

After the horrific deaths of children and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary, in Newtown, Conn., you may be wondering how you can show your support for those families who have lost loved ones and the survivors traumatized by the shootings. The North Carolina PTA will be collecting snowflakes made by individuals, families, organizations and businesses across the state Jan. 3 through 8 and delivering them to the Connecticut PTSA to help create a winter wonderland for the school community. When school resumes for Sandy Hook, students will be in a new building decorated with the snowflakes. Learn more at the NC PTA’s website here.

From Jan. 3-8, you can mail your snowflakes to 3501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612. Snowflake makers are encouraged to be as creative as possible, remembering that no two snowflakes are alike.

You can also contribute to a fund which is listed at the National PTA and Connecticut PTSA links. Learn more about that effort at http://pta.org/sandyhook.
