MythBusters Co-Hosts Offer Shows in Raleigh

O Spotlight Mythbusters

Do most people really use only 10 percent of their brain? Does talking to your plants help them grow? Since 2003, engineers on the Discovery Channel’s MythBusters have investigated more than 700 such myths and are now in their ninth season of tackling fact versus fiction.

This year, MythBusters co-hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage will stop in Raleigh during their tour of an all-new, live stage show titled MythBusters: Behind the Myths. They will present two two-hour shows at the Progress Energy Center Memorial Auditorium March 25 at 3 and 7 p.m.

Appropriate for all ages, the show features on-stage experiments, videos and behind-the-scenes stories. Attendees will come face to face with the duo’s curious world of science. Also, for the first time, fans will be able to assist Hyneman and Savage on stage during the show.

They have been featured on multiple television shows, including Good Morning America, The Late Show with David Letterman and The Colbert Report. They hit the big screen in 2006 in the movie Darwin Awards and have also made an appearance on CSI.

Tickets range from $29.50 to $150 and can be purchased for the Raleigh shows through Ticketmaster at www.progressenergycenter.com. Limited VIP packages are available. VIP guests attend a post-show meet and greet with Hyneman and Savage.

The Progress Energy Center Memorial Auditorium is located at 2 E. South St. in Raleigh. For more information, call 919-996-8500. To find out more about the tour, visit www.mythbusterstour.com.
