Lazy Daze Festival in Cary Seeks Volunteers

315x206 Dear Teacher 001

If your family is looking to volunteer in the Triangle, there’s a fun opportunity coming this month in Cary.

The 35th Annual Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival, one of the South’s premier festivals, takes place from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, in downtown Cary, and more than 200 volunteers are needed to ensure a well-run event. This year, festival organizers estimate 50,000 people will gather in downtown Cary for arts and crafts, food, and entertainment.

Volunteers are needed to help with a range of activities, so sign up early to have your pick of things to do. You can booth sit for artisans, help with the hospitality tent and distribute lunches, hand out surveys and monitor parking lots. Artisans also need you to set up on Friday, Aug. 26, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., as well as on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 6-8 a.m. After the festival, volunteers are also needed to put stuff away on Saturday from 4:15-7:30 p.m., as well to help with other jobs. Work for an hour, a couple of hours, or stay all day! Pitching in at Lazy Daze is a great way for teens to get involved in the community and gain service hours for clubs or organizations.
