Kids Want Their Parents to be Healthier, Survey Finds
In a survey of more than 72,000 parents, kids and teens, the website kidshealth.org found that children and teens want their parents to be healthier, and that kids can motivate their parents to improve their health. Among the findings:
– About half of the kids and teens said they worry about their parents’ health.
– 85 percent of kids would be willing to make changes such as eating more nutritious foods and exercising more to improve the whole family’s health.
– Nearly 80 percent of parents said they wanted to improve their health and
90 percent would try to make healthy changes if their kids asked them to.
These findings were presented at the 2014 World Health Care Congress.
