'Kick-off to Kindergarten' Offers Kids Fun Taste of School
Local rising year-round kindergarteners can practice for the first day of school at this annual community event
Are your kids rising year-round calendar kindergartners? Help them prepare for the school by heading to the “Kick-off to Kindergarten” event 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh.
The event invites children to join in purposeful play so they can sample school activities, from being on the lunch line, to playing at recess, to hopping on the school bus, to “circle time” in class. Parents can visit booths and learn from experts in nutrition, education, healthy living, saving for college and more. The event is free for rising year-round kindergartners and their parents.
Marbles is partnering with Wake County Public School System and other local groups, including North Carolina’s National College Savings Program (NC 529), Wake County Public Libraries and WAKE Up & Read and more for the event.
If your child is a rising kindergartner on the traditional school schedule, you can attend a “Kick-off to Kindergarten” event 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Marbles Kids Museum.
