Keep Kids in Booster Seats!
Planning to travel by car over the holidays? Make sure young children are properly secured. According to the National Transportation Highway Traffic Safety Administration, children prematurely moved to seat belts are four times more likely to suffer serious head injuries during an accident than children in child safety or booster seats. Safety belts are designed for adults, say the experts at the NTHTSA, and children less than 4 feet 9 inches tall should continue to ride with a booster seat.
