John Legend Set to Debut as the Rat King in Holiday Show
A holiday tradition in my family is watching some of our favorite shows on TV. The antics of Charlie Brown never fails to amuse, while “It’s a Wonderful Life” offers its bittersweet message that a life well-lived can involve the hardship of sacrifice and service to others.
I believe the shows we watch with our children year after year often impart our values, especially if they spark conversation afterward. This year, you can add on a new holiday show to your lineup of old favorites. Debuting on Sunday, Dec. 11, Target’s “The Toycracker” will feature John Legend as The Rat King and Chrissy Tiegen as the Nutcracker in a modern retelling of the holiday classic. The 8-minute musical will air in two 4-minute segments during the network broadcast premiere of Disney’s "Frozen," scheduled for 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, on ABC. (Check your local listings to confirm timing of "Frozen.") You can also catch a sneak peek of “The Toycracker” here.
