Last July, Durham Parks and Recreation hosted two public meetings to solicit input on the design of a new playground at Indian Trail Park, located at 1701 Albany Street in Durham. The playground designed for residents, by the residents is now complete.

Patrons will enjoy a playground with play structures specifically designed for children ages 2-5 and 5-12. The new playground features include a modern seesaw, dizzying multichild spinner, swing set with standard swings; and a basket swing for children of all ages and abilities.

In addition, to increase the visibility of the playground from the trail and parking lot, DPR solicited The Goat Squad to help. In total, the goats removed approximately 3/4 of an acre of unwanted vegetation, brush and invasive species.

Final touches to the project will be done in the coming weeks and include repairing the cracked sidewalks around the playground; planting native ‘plants for play’ and installing new benches.
