Thanksgiving is a great holiday. It’s all about spending time with friends and family, gathered around a table full of food. But getting ready for that magic moment takes a lot of preparation, whether you’re the one cooking or you’re packing and getting ready to travel. It can be hard to get things done when little ones are underfoot, constantly asking when Grandma and Grandpa will be here or asking for snacks and help with a million little things.
Keep the kids occupied and involved in the festivities by letting them help you get ready! It’s always fun to have kids help out in the kitchen. Little ones can do things like stir and pour ingredients. Older kids might even take on an entire dish. We’ve got some great recipes in our Food section, including a delicious pecan pie and a stuffing recipe from the Screaming Rooster.
If you’re not ready for the adventure of cooking together, let your kids help decorate the table. Try out this turkey craft or our fall leaf jar. Both make beautiful centerpieces.
No matter how you celebrate Thanksgiving, whether it’s with a small gathering of immediate family or a big reunion with cousins, aunts and uncles, enjoy your time together. From all of us at Piedmont Parent, we wish you a very happy Thanksgiving.
