Teens can put their fandom to the test this week in Raleigh.

The week of May 21 in the Triangle you can make a colorful, nature-inspired craft at Crowder County Park in Apex; learn about life in 1764 at an American Girl doll activity at the Southwest Regional Library in Durham; learn all about frogs and toads at a program at Blue Jay Point County Park in Raleigh; and participate in some “superfan” trivia at the North Regional Library in Raleigh.


Kids Get Crafty: Spring Flowers FREE

Flowers are in full bloom at Crowder County Park in Apex. Create a cool craft bursting with color inspired by nature. Meet at the Cardinal Shelter on May 21, 11 a.m.-noon. This free program is suitable for all ages and requires no preregistration.

American Girl: Kaya 1764 FREE

You and your 6-to-12-year old can join staff at the Southwest Regional Library in Durham to explore the customs, culture and world of the American Girl Kaya. Find out what life was like in 1764 through stories and fun activities. This event takes place May 22, 4:15-5 p.m., and requires preregistration.

Nature Stories: Feeling Froggy

You and your 3-5 year old can learn all about frogs and toads while investigating live tadpoles at an activity at Blue Jay County Park in Raleigh. Set for May 23, 1-2 p.m., you’ll also hear stories and engage in other activities related to frogs. The fee is $4 per child and you can preregister here.

Fandom Trivia Night FREE

Teens in grades 6-10 can put their fandom knowledge to the test at this fun program on May 24, 6-7 p.m., at the North Regional Library in Raleigh. Whether their “thing” is Stranger Things, Harry Potter, Marvel, Disney or something else, they can team up with other like-minded kids for a night of fun. Preregister here.
