As part of the 15th Annual Sport Horse National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show, learn about the special breed from guides, receive a bag of educational goodies about the T.A.I.L. program and Arabian horses, watch the show, and meet a real Arabian horse! T.A.I.L. (Total Arabian Interaction and Learning Program) was formed to introduce newcomers to the Arabian horse in a comfortable setting. Area families are encouraged to take advantage of this free opportunity to learn about these beautiful and gracious animals. The show and tours take place at the Gov. James B. Hunt Jr. Horse Complex, part of the North Carolina State Fairgounds in Raleigh. Tours begin Thursday, Sept. 7 at 4 p.m. and continue through Saturday, Sept. 9. Contact the Arabian Horse Association at 303-597-8251 or via email to schedule a tour for your family.

Celebrate the excitement at this party that includes trivia games and chatting about your favorite passages in the book. Bring gently used clothes to donate to area schools to help get the year off to a great start for everyone. The party is from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 at the South Regional Library in Durham and is free. Zoo-wee-mama!
