Fun Things to Do in the Triangle This Week, Dec. 11-14
All of the activities highlighted for this week have two things in common: They’re FREE and they’re all located at local library branches. Triangle libraries offer programming for all ages, from babies through senior citizens, so look up your closest branch and see what’s happening there. Good bets for the week include reading to therapy dogs or joining a teen leadership group in Wake County, as well as dancing, stories and crafts for the preschool set in Durham.
See Spot Read FREE
Children in kindergarten and up can practice their reading skills with certified therapy dogs from See Spot Read, a local organization that strives to bring dogs and kids together to enhance reading skills. No registration is necessary to participate in this FREE activity that takes place on Dec. 11 from 4:30-5:15 p.m. at the Green Road Community Library in Raleigh.

Teen Leadership Corps is a leadership, learning and service program for Wake County Public Library members in grades 6-10. Teen Leadership Corps offers teens the opportunity to cultivate leadership skills, explore and develop a variety of interests and talents, contribute to the community, and get to know other teens with similar interests. Applications are required to join, and opportunities vary by library branch. Orientation is scheduled for this week at the Southeast Regional (Dec. 11), Holly Springs Community (Dec. 13 and 14) and Northeast Regional Library branches (Dec. 14).
