Wake Forest 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular
Husky Stadium, 1150 Forestville Rd.
Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. for this event. In terms of a pre-show this year: “Due to limited planning time, the Town will not offer concessions or live entertainment as part of this year’s fireworks show. Instead, at 9 p.m. the Town will share on its Facebook page an Independence Day video hosted by Talbot the Town Crier. Featuring Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty and the Board of Commissioners, the video will include a pre-recorded performance by the Band of Oz and an installment of ‘Kids Say the Cutest Things about America.’”
4th of July Laser Light Show
Durham County Memorial Stadium, 750 Stadium Dr., Durham
This event is described as a free “patriotic holiday-themed laser light show.” The gates open at 8 p.m., and the show arrives at 9 p.m. Preregistration is required for this event (here).
City of Raleigh’s 4th of July Fireworks Display
Carter-Finley Stadium and PNC Arena Area
There is free parking at PNC Arena and Carter-Finley Stadium for this free event. The lots open at 6 p.m., and the fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.
Durham Bulls Game
Durham Bulls Athletic Park, 409 Blackwell St., Durham
The Bulls play the Gwinnett Stripers on the Fourth of July. Fireworks begin around approximately 9:15 p.m. The game begins at 6:05 p.m., and tickets run $17-$26.
Chapel Hill’s July 4th Fireworks
Southern Community Park, 1000 Sumac Rd., Chapel Hill
“This year’s event will be smaller in scale and scope,” organizers say. You can bring blankets and chairs to the park, with event parking beginning at 7 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:20 p.m.
Independence Day Celebration
Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Pkwy., Cary
This free event is back. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. for this event; the Cary Town Band starts at 5:30 p.m.; the N.C. Symphony starts at 7:30 p.m.; and fireworks arrive at 9:25 p.m.On activities: “There will be several food purchase options in the space outside of the Koka Booth Amphitheatre gates, however, there will not be rides and other activities offered this 4th of July.”
