Independence Day festivities light up the Triangle this month. Celebrate the birth of our nation with patriotic performances, bike parades, games, contests and fireworks. Be sure to check with event organizers before heading to an event since plans may change due to weather or other unexpected conditions.

Town of Cary Independence Eve Celebration — Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave., Cary. 7:30 p.m. Free. The Cary Town Band celebrates the Declaration of Independence with a concert. A preshow begins at 6:30 p.m. with Applause! Cary Youth Theatre. townofcary.org.
Town of Garner July 3 Independence Day Celebration — Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Rd., Garner. Gates open at 5 p.m. Free. Celebrate our nation’s independence with inflatables, games and food. Apex Olde Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration — Downtown Apex. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Free. Celebrate the nation’s birthday with a flag raising, carnival games, inflatables, street performers and more. Kids ages 12 and younger can take part in Uncle Sam’s Parade of Wheels at noon.
