Kids will find the fun in science (and maybe some slime) with day-long and week-long camps offered year-round by Science Fun For Everyone in Cary.

From Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and local businesses to science museums like the Museum of Life and Science in Durham and North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, Triangle families can find multiple ways and places to explore science.

Morehead Planetarium on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus offers shows and educational programs about space — from black holes to solar systems. The Museum of Life and Science in Durham offers indoor and outdoor science exhibits covering aerospace, weather, wind, sound, math and more. The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh offers a Nature Research Center and Nature Exploration Center featuring exhibits that showcase the animals, topography and environments throughout North Carolina. Most of these museums, along with other attractions in the Triangle, such as Duke Gardens and North Carolina State University, will offer programs related to the Aug. 21 total solar eclipse, as well. Read more about those here.

Science Fun For Everyone, a new business located in Cary, is brought to life by a team of passionate science and education professionals who have experience working with children in many different settings. As a partner with local preschools and elementary schools and in their own camps and classes, Science Fun For Everyone offers an interactive blend of science education and entertainment via one-day mini-camps, week-long summer and track-out camps, and enrichment opportunities for after-school programs serving kids in kindergarten through sixth grade. They also host birthday parties, with several themes — such as “Sizzlin' Science,” “Get Buggy” and “Space Blast” — for kids to choose from. Participants get to explore science and nature with hands-on activities such as creating robots, concocting “slime” by mixing chemicals, building and launching rockets, making volcanoes erupt and more.
