CyleBar Offers Free Cycle Classes in Raleigh
As the holiday season approaches, many of us are looking for ways to work exercise into our hectic schedules, and if we can do so for free, all the better. If you enjoy cycling, you may want to check out the free classes offered at CycleBar's Brier Creek Shopping Center location in Raleigh.
The indoor cycling studio is offering a first free ride to those who sign up for a class with the promo code FREERIDE at briercreek.cyclebar.com. Also, the Brier Creek studio is also featuring free 30-minute rides for beginners at noon on Saturdays and at 5:15 p.m.Tuesdays and Thursdays.
CycleBar offers both low-impact and high-intensity cycling classes that are fun and multisensory, featuring LED lights and a DJ booth audio system, according to Christie Meyers, who owns the franchise, which opened in the Brier Creek Shopping Center earlier this year. The 50-minute workouts are designed for all skill levels and ages. Themed rides include “Hip Hop/Rap;” “Wine Down Wednesdays,” when cyclists can enjoy wine after class; “Throwback Thursdays;” and a “Happy Hour” class on Fridays that is followed by offerings of beer, wine, cheese and crackers. On Sundays, a “brunch” ride features mimosa and muffins.
A former resident of the Brier Creek area, Meyers says she bought the franchise because she is a cycling fan. “I love the idea of cycling because I have never been into running,” she says. “[Cycling] gives you a great cardio workout compared to running [but] without the impact.”
She says she plans to give back to the community through fundraising rides that benefit local nonprofits throughout the year. She says a second CycleBar studio is expected to open under separate ownership in Alston Shopping Center (highway 55 and 540) in west Cary in January 2017.
