So many families have made it a fun annual tradition to travel and choose their perfect Christmas tree and cut it (or have it cut) themselves. The great news is that this doesn’t mean you have to drive for hours each way to drive to the NC mountains-there are lots of options for choose and cut Christmas trees in and around the Triangle. Conditions vary and supplies are often limited, so be sure to double check before heading out to one of these family-favorite destinations.

Unfortunately, some local favorite choose and cut Christmas tree farms won’t be operating this year:

Christmas Tree Patch in Sanford lost over 300 trees in a hurricane and other bad weather conditions this year. They hope to return in 2021.

Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm in Apex has precut and ball-and-burlap trees only. The choose and cut area is not open this year. 2170 Martha’s Chapel Rd., Apex
