Catch Curious George at Free Shows in Durham
Got a Curious George fan in your home? Head to Northgate Mall in Durham this Saturday, when that endearing, adventurous monkey will present three free shows. The shows, at Northgate Center Court, will feature music and dancing at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. For a small fee, your children also can have their photos taken with Curious George after each show.
In addition to the free shows, you can also catch the famed storybook character hanging out at various spots in the mall during the day. Find him at Northgate Books at 11:30 a.m., where he’ll be signing books and greeting his fans. Join him when he heads for lunch at 12:30 p.m. at Northgate’s Food Gallery. (He apparently loves pizza and ice cream!) At 2:30 p.m., take the kids to hop on board Northgate’s Mini Express Train near Macy’s as Curious George goes for a ride.
Nothing beats the magic of a live performance, whether you’re seeing Curious George up close during a show, or you’re attending a concert with your family. And this summer, you can have your pick of free or low-cost outdoor concerts across the Triangle. Keep your kids entertained and introduce them to new genres of music while staying within your budget. Visit our Things to Do page, for listings of free concerts, as well as free movies.
