BODYARMOR State Games Are Back This Summer
Going for the gold in North Carolina
Do you enjoy playing sports? Are you an amateur? If you answered “yes” to both of those questions then you may be interested in the BODYARMOR State Games. It’s a sporting event that will span from June 5 through July 18 across the Triangle. Think of the Olympics but smaller. Start practicing now and go for the gold this summer. The organizer of this event is North Carolina Amateur Sports and is sponsored by BODYARMOR Sports Drink.
Due to Covid-19 the games were postponed last year. However, the state’s largest multi-sport, amateur athletic sporting event is back this summer and eager for you to sign-up for one of its many competitions. 27 different sports will be available for registration at varying levels and age groups. The age groups include youth, high school, and adult. Amongst those 27 sports will be some new additions for this year: Ninja, badminton, kickball and Esports. Team sports will be available as well such as baseball, basketball, and soccer, along with more niche individual sports like disc golf, fencing, and mountain biking. Visit BODYARMOR State Games to get the full list of sports, venues, and registration details.
The organizers expect over 12,000 athletes and 600 teams to compete over the seven week span. The games are being held in various locations across the Triangle. For example, tennis matches will be held in Cary at Cary Tennis Park while field hockey will be in Durham at Duke University. Be prepared to pay an entry fee to enter each event ranging anywhere from $8 to $125.
