Blissful Blueberry Smoothie

Mix up this refreshing blueberry smoothie from Ashley Acornley of Triangle Nutrition Therapy for a healthy treat. Makes 2 cups.

Ingredients

1 small frozen banana

½ cup of vanilla almond milk (unsweetened)

1 cup of plain greek yogurt

1½ teaspoon of flax seed meal

1½ teaspoon of honey

1 teaspoon of fresh grated ginger

2/3 cup of frozen blueberries

 

Directions

Cut the banana into small pieces and place into a blender. Add the almond milk, yogurt, flax seed meal and honey. Blend on the lowest speed until smooth (about 5 seconds).  Gradually add the blueberries while continuing to blend on low. Once the blueberries are incorporated, increase the speed and blend to the desired consistency.
