August 10-12: S’Morrisville, Paperhand Puppet Theater Performance, Tree Identification and a Movie Under the Stars
Here's what's going on this weekend
This weekend in the Triangle, celebrate National S’mores Day in “S’Morrisville,” catch Paperhand Puppet Intervention’s summer show at the Forest Theater in Chapel Hill, learn to identify trees at a wayside program at Historic Oak View County Park in Raleigh and watch a movie at Joyner Park in Wake Forest.
For one day only, on Aug. 10, the Town of Morrisville will change its name to “S’Morrisville” in honor of the delicious campfire snack we all love. The event runs 6-8 p.m. and takes place at four different sites in town: Morrisville Community Park, Northwest Park, Church Street Park and Healthy Food Hub. Enjoy music and games, have a chance to win a T-shirt, and eat s’mores, of course.

See Paperhand Puppet Intervention’s summer show, “In the Heart of the Fire,” at the Forest Theatre on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus during weekends through Sept. 23. Ticket sales begin at the theater at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 10-12, and the opening act starts at 6:20 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m. Pack a picnic, bring the whole family and prepare to be amazed. Tickets are general admission, and cash, check and major credit cards will be accepted. There's a suggested donation of $15 for adults and $8 for kids ages 4-14; children age 3 and younger get in free. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
