Advocates for Health in Action Grants Awards

Arya Pontula, a sophomore at Enloe High School in Raleigh, received the Advocates for Health in Action’s Student Wellness Advocate Award in April in recognition of her interest in health advocacy and dedication to school wellness.

Arya has been actively involved the Poe Center’s Teen Health Advisory Council, one of AHA’s collaborative partners. AHA also honored Centennial Middle School in Raleigh with a Staff Wellness Champion Award for its excellence in health promotion for staff. AHA gave out awards to a total of 16 Wake County Public School System schools. Learn more at advocatesforhealthinaction.org.
