As part of Bayer’s commitment to show young people real-world scenarios and career paths within the agriculture/biotech sphere, nearly 50 area high school students attended the company’s third NxGen Ag event on April 6. Students from Northern High School, Knightdale High School, Cary High School, City of Medicine Academy and Beddingfield High School met with Bayer experts to discover what it takes to bring a new agricultural product to the market. As part of the program, the experts — who include a greenhouse scientist, chemist and regulatory specialist, among others — guide teens through the life journey of a brand-new, much-needed agriculture crop seed or the development of a new agricultural chemical product.
