Fair Weather
When the crisp autumn air carries the aroma of fried dough, it must be time for the fair. This year, the event runs from Oct. 12-21 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. Entertainment ranges from nationally known recording artists to pig racing, and everything in between, plus more rides and food than one day can hold. Advance admission tickets cost $5 for adults, $1 for children 6-12 if purchased by Oct. 11.
