Halloween Deals on Food and Fun in Triangle Towns

With Halloween's arrival on Wednesday, venues across the Triangle are welcoming children to a roundup of fun that includes a parade, hayrides, crafts, treats, storytelling, magic tricks and designated places to trick or treat. If you're looking for deals on food and fun, you'll also find two offers this week on Halloween:

The Polar Ice House, in Garner, will be featuring this special deal Oct. 31, from 1 to 3:45 p.m.:
* Wear your Halloween costume to receive half off the admission price for the party (not including skate rental)
* Enjoy an extra hour of skating in your costume during this extended afternoon public skate session

Also, participating Krispy Kremes will be doling out a free Halloween or Pumpkin Spice Doughnut on Oct. 31 to visitors dressed in costume. No purchase is necessary. The deal is one doughnut per customer while supplies last. Call ahead to see which Krispy Kreme is participating.

For age-appropriate Halloween fun, visit our roundup of family fun in the harvest season. You'll find not-so-scary events for younger children including these on Oct. 31:

In addition, kids ages 12 and under and their parents are invited to a free Halloween Safe Night Event from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct 31 at the North Carolina Museum of History, in downtown Raleigh. The museum will open its doors at 6 p.m. to let kids trick or treat through the Story of North Carolina exhibit. Along the trick-or-treat trail, kids will gather candy and meet their favorite superheroes, villains and a stilt walker. Parents can enter to win a $500 gas gift card in the Halloween photo contest.
