Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week Offers Savings, Delicious Escape
Written by: Odile Fredericks
When last did you head out with your spouse or meet up with a close friend, just the two of you? The perfect opportunity to escape for a little grown-up time is coming during Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week, which runs Monday, Aug. 20 through Sunday, Aug. 26.
Restaurant Week offers a chance to sample cuisines from around the world, including Moroccan, Italian, Lebanese, and Spanish dishes, at special savings. During their normal dinner hours, participating restaurants will be offering three-course prix fixe dinners for $20 or $30 a person, depending on the venue (tax and tip not included). Some places will also feature three-course beer or wine pairings for an additional $10 a person.
Although you don't need tickets, reservations are strongly recommended, when applicable, and you can make online reservations at more than half of the venues through OpenTable. These reservation links are available on the Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week website at www.DineDowntownRaleigh.com, where you can browse some of the participating restaurants'menus.
All parents need a "date night" now and then to reconnect with the romantic days of old, "BC." But if both of you can't head out together for whatever the reason, see why a girls' or guys' night out could do you both good, according to this couples mediator, and bestselling author, who answers the question, "Is it Good to Go Out Without Your Spouse?"
