Polar Ice House will host a series of special events at haunted locations in Wake Forest and Cary for you to get in the spirit of Halloween well before trick-or-treating starts Saturday. Look for free skating exhibitions at each location and additional events in Cary on Saturday, Oct. 31, including a costume contest, trick-or-treating and on-ice games.
The Triangle Figure Skating Club is headlining the events with exclusive performances of a bewitching choreographed routine to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” The “Thriller” performance, debuting at the Carolina Hurricanes game on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the RBC Center, is designed to leave audiences terrifyingly delighted. Additionally, experienced skaters will don creepy costumes to showcase individual figure skating programs.
The festivities kick-off with “Spooktacular” at Polar Ice House at The Factory in Wake Forest on Friday, Oct. 30, starting at 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 31, the Cary Polar Ice House location will host “Fright Night” from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Following the “Thriller” performance and figure skating exhibition, a contest will be held to reward the best costume with a free birthday party package.
“We are excited to welcome the talented skaters from the Triangle Figure Skating Club and host this special performance,” said Randy Lee, general manager of the Polar Ice House. “With this year’s events, the Polar Ice House is offering a great way to get even more mileage out of your Halloween costume.”
Throughout the events, treats will be handed out while a soundtrack of ghostly tunes fills the rink. Attendees are encouraged to bring their Halloween goodie bags.
