The legacy of Sherlock Holmes will continue in Cary when the Applause! Masters in Acting class presents “The Very Great Grandson of Sherlock Holmes” on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at 7 p.m. in the Cary Senior Center Ballroom, 120 Maury O’Dell Place. The play, a spoof of classic Film Noir, finds the master detective’s grandson Sherwood Holmes in the middle of a marvelously complex murder mystery.
“Bring the entire family to this free and entertaining performance, featuring local, talented teens,” said Youth Theatre Coordinator Rachel Green.
In support of their fellow teens, the Cary Teen Council will also sell concessions as part of Saturday’s show.
The show is part of the Masters in Acting class offered by Applause! Cary Youth Theatre to teach theatre skills to teens. Class topics vary, and each class culminates in a performance designed to showcase skills learned in class and provide an evening of fun, no-cost entertainment to families and other citizens.
For teens interested in participating in future performances, Applause! offers youth theatre classes year-round with week-long camps during the summer. In addition, the Applause! Touring Troupe will rehearse and perform a patriotic drama as part of the Town of Cary’s Independence Day festivities.
