Publish On 02-16-2009 , 20:19

Charlie Gaddy has been named Master of Ceremonies at this year’s Oscar Night® America party, Raleigh’s only Oscar Night® party sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Each year, the Academy selects 50 cities that allow local charities to host glamorous Oscar® viewing parties while raising money for their organizations.

Raleigh’s Oscar Night Party on Feb. 22 will raise funds to benefit Theatre In The Park’s Annual Fund for Community Arts and Education.

Local Oscar fans watch the Awards telecast and projected on larger than life screens, take home official Academy Awards posters and programs, and enjoy a buffet provided by The Angus Barn. Open bar beverages will be provided by Mutual Distributing Company.

Attendees will also get the chance to bid on over 30 items in a silent auction including autographed sports memorabilia from the Carolina Hurricanes, and local ACC institutions, along with a wide selection of autographed items provided by The Academy, in addition to items from local artists and businesses such as Adam Peele, Maupin Travel and Durham Performing Arts Center.

This black tie optional Oscar Night® America fundraising event will be held at the Ira David Wood III Pullen Park Theatre on February 22 starting at 7:00 PM.
