Did you love to fish as child? Catch a fun free fishing event for your children ages 3 to 15, on Saturday, June 2, when the annual Youth Fishing Rodeo lands at Bob Strayhorn's Farm, in Chapel Hill.

Designed to expose children to the joys of fishing, the rodeo runs from 9:15 a.m. to noon, with registration beginning at 9:15 a.m. Fishing will begin at 9:30, followed by a free hot dog lunch and awards ceremony at 11:15 a.m. You'll find lots of opportunities to win as prizes will be awarded for the most creative hat, the first fish caught, the shortest fish, the longest fish, and biggest fish in each age division.

The rodeo is co-sponsored by Orange County Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks, and Recreation, Carrboro Parks and Recreation Department and Orange County Cooperative Extension 4-H. The Strayhorn farm is located at 2103 New Hope Church Road, off Highway 86, between Hillsborough and Chapel Hill.
