Date: April 1, 2012
Redress Raleigh, a local group of environmentally conscious individuals from the fashion industry, will host an eco-fashion show April 20 at 8 p.m. at the Contemporary Art Museum in Raleigh. The group formed in 2009 to be the "resource for eco-fashion in the Triangle."
The show will feature clothing made with recycled or remanufactured garments, as well as environmentally friendly fabrics and production processes. Some of the featured local designers include Katy Deckard of Revolver Denim; Kim Kirchstein of Leopold Designs, who specializes in hand-dyed silk scarves; and Julianne Applegate of JulieApple, who uses fair labor and sustainable, local materials in her designs.
Redress Raleigh will also take part in a fashion showcase during Raleigh's Planet Earth Celebration on April 21. (The 42nd annual Earth Day is April 22.) For more information, visit www.redressraleigh.com.
