Do you have a little one headed to kindergarten or a current kindergartner? Ease the transition to school with a little fun. Head to Kick-off to Kindergarten, a playful event designed to clue your child into what life's like at school. It's happening at Marbles Kids Museum, in downtown Raleigh, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.

At the event, kids experience what it's like to ride on a school bus, make healthy food choices in a pretend cafeteria and take part in circle time. Meanwhile, parents and caregiver can meet experts in education and healthy living. You'll gain tips on packing healthy lunches and easing the transition back to school. And you can ask a teacher questions about the upcoming year. The event is free for rising and current kindergartners and their families.

Here's a look at the scheduled of activities:

Circle Time – 10 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 3:15 p.m.

PE Class - 10:45 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m.

Celebrity Storytellers - 11:30 a.m., 1:45 p.m.

UNC-TV Character Appearances - 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Kindergarten Live! – 1 p.m.
