Amenities: Patient care is at the heart of Birthing Services at Duke Hospital. Our facilities are designed to care for all mothers
and families, from the healthiest mothers to those requiring specialized services. Our 20 birthing suites include all the comforts of
home, including TV/VCR, sleeper sofa and whirlpool tub. When circumstances do not allow for a stay in the birthing suite
post-delivery, our 16 private postpartum rooms have rocker recliners, TV/VCR, hair dryers and private showers. The HUGS
infant security system is used with all our infants in the Birthing Center. Our nurses provide expert care in all phases of OB and
newborn care. Lactation consultants are available to help with any breastfeeding problems and provide support to our families.
Our dedicated Women's Anesthesia team provides round-the-clock support for all patients. We also have certified nurse midwives
who provide OB triage and delivery care. An intensive-care nursery provides the highest level of specialized services available to newborns. Duke's Fetal Diagnostic Center offers 3-D imaging and genetic counseling and provides services to our mothers located
in the Birthing Center.

Additional Comments: Our physicians and staff provide state-of-the art medical care in a warm and compassionate
environment. We are dedicated to giving the best service possible to our families.
