With warmer than average temperatures, Biltmore House gardeners are busy preparing for an early flowering season and the estate’s annual spring celebration. Biltmore Blooms begins March 20 and runs through May 25. Expect the showstopper of more than 50,000 tulips to kick off this year’s celebration, blooming in mid to late March in the Walled Garden pattern beds in hues of yellow, white, orange and purple.
A progression of flowers will take center stage all spring with lavish displays inside Biltmore House and thousands of spring bulbs blooming in magnificent gardens designed at the turn of the century by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. Crocus, forsythia and daffodils are among the first blooms in the gardens. After March’s grand tulip show, April and May promise irises, roses, and acres of azaleas, with mountain laurels and rhododendrons close behind. The estate’s bloom schedule continues into summer.
To celebrate the start of spring and this spectacular flowering season, Carolina Parent is offering a special Biltmore House giveaway! Enter to win the following:
- Two-night stay for four at the Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate with deluxe room with one king or two double beds.
