Weekend Offers Free Family Fun in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill

Destination Dix Community Festival
Join in the Destination Dix Community Festival, a new, free, family-friendly celebration at Dix Park, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday, July 23 at Dorothea Dix Park in downtown Raleigh. The festival marking the one-year anniversary of the sale of the Dorothea Dix campus by the State of North Carolina to the City of Raleigh will feature live music from 14 bands on three stages, art, live performances and children’s activities. Ride a Ferris wheel or a tethered hot air balloon, and take the kids for crafts, inflatables, lawn games and a “Touch-a-Truck” section. Shaded areas will offer an escape from the sun. Visitors will have an opportunity to share their ideas for the future of the 308-acre property through interactive activities. Learn more at destinationdix.com.
