Are you thinking of adopting a cat? You can find your purr-fect kitty during SAFE Haven for Cats’ “Free Cat Frenzy” event this weekend, when adoption fees will be waived for all cats and kittens.
SAFE Haven for Cats, a no-kill shelter, is offering the free adoptions 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Sept. 16-18, at its home in Raleigh, thanks to a grant from Petco Foundation. The savings are substantial since cat adoption fees can run as much as $105 to cover medical care, vaccinations, spay/neuter services and microchipping. Each cat or kitten adopted at the event will have received a pre-adoption veterinary exam, vaccinations, a spay or neuter, and a microchip. At presstime, the shelter had 60 cats available for adoption.

“This is an amazing opportunity for potential adopters to meet our cats and find a furry friend at no cost,” says SAFE Haven for Cats Shelter Director Sherri Orner. “We’re thankful for the support from the Petco Foundation, which will give so many cats an opportunity to settle into a forever home!”
While cat lovers who adopt this weekend will be leaving with furry friends, they’ll also be helping the shelter, which will be able to take in more cats and kittens in need.
